I wrote a speech for him the morning after he passed which I spoke at his funeral last Thursday, which was a beautiful celebration of his life. I will put it online here, in Dutch, and I promise that this year my Bahasa will be good enough to translate it.

We arrived quite late in Bandung so we went straight to our hotel. The morning after we took a taxi to Taman Hutan Raya in the north of Bandung to see some nature and also kill some time before we could meetup with Munir. It was a beautiful hike through the forest jungle.

May 30th. That's when we arrived in Jakarta. We just passed this huge building by taxi, it reminded me of Tin Tin's rocket to to the moon. Little did I know then that that place would have such a big impact on my whole trip.

Now the process of making a meshprint is quite labor intensive. This was my first time ever for me to witness the whole process of how a meshprint comes together. So let me take you through the steps of how the end result of the logo came together.

It needed to be recognizable, it also needed to be minimalistic and also contain the name in it at the same time, I didn't want the name to be separate from the logo design, it needed to be part of the visual identity.

It's roots of course lay in Indonesia. To my none Indonesian speakers Jiwa Jiwa basically means souls or spirits. In Indonesian if a word is written two times, it will be the plural of that word. Jiwa refers to the music the label wants to portray, soulful music.
